Dollywood’s Newest Attraction Unveiled for 2025 Season

Pigeon Forge is about top get a whole lot more thrilling, thanks to the newest addition to one of the Souths's most beloved theme parks. As Dollywood opened its gates for the 2025 season this March, visitors were greeted with a surprise -- a brand-new ride that's already turning heads and setting social media a buzz.

The unveiling of the new attraction marks the latest chapter in Hollywood's ongoing mission to offer an unforgettable experience to guests of all ages. While the full details of the ride were kept under wraps leading up to opening day, park goers were thrilled to discover "Mystic Ridge", a state of the art mountain coaster that blends immersive storytelling with high-speed thrills.

Set deep within a mystical forest backdrop, Mystic Ridge takes riders on an exhilarating journey through ancient Appalachian folklore. The ride features cutting-edge ride technology, combining traditional coaster elements with sensory effects audio storytelling, and animatronic creatures hidden along the twisting track.

"This isn't just a roller coaster - it's an experienc," said Eugene Naughton, President of Dollywood Company. We wanted something that not only delivers on the thrills but also continues to celebrate our region's heritage and storytelling tradition."

The ride reaches speed of up to 55 mph and includes mid-course drop that has quickly become a fan favorite.

With Mystic Ridge, Dollywood continues to expand its appeal and reinforce its place as a top tier destination in the U.S theme park landscape. The new ride is part of a $50 million investment in the park's continued development, which also includes new dining areas, expanded entertainment offerings, and enhanced guest amenities.

Tourism officials expect the attraction to boost visitation numbers throughout 2025 and beyond.

"We've already seen an increase in early sales and season pass renewals," said Tracey Martin, Director of the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism. " Every time Dollywood expands, the entire region benefits - hotels and restaurants to small businesses and local workers.
