Season's Greetings

Image
By Jason Grant Photo by: Jason Grant  As this year comes to an end, I can't help but extend my gratitude to you all who viewed, comment, and shared my blogpost. I am grateful for each and everyone of you.  Looking back on this years posts, we covered a lot of topics that were really hard to talk about but we pulled through, that is the greatest thing. If this year has taught us anything it would be to pull through, because things have a way of working out unexpectedly.  T H A N K   Y O U  A L L 💫                             Wishing you a     H A P P Y   H O L I D A Y 👊🍀

It's Not Easy

Image
By Jason Grant   If you want something you have to give something.  Welcome back to Grantinspo Blog post, last post we  were talking about pulling ourselves through now we are  admitting that it's not easy and that we have to give  something in order to have something.  Let's be real about this topic because it is something that  I have long over looked and did not analyze until I got to  this age and came to the realization that it is factual. If  you have never noticed it let me point it out for you.  think about your education, doesn't it require you to be  present at school on most day to get the best grades?  what do you get in return for studying? you get an  education that will help you to get a job in the future.  If you should look at whole process of life you will  see what I'm getting at. You always have to give something in order to receive something whether it be  your time, your attention, your money, etc. it counts as giving something.  Nothing in this w

Pull Yourself Through

No one's  coming to tell you to get out door and exercise. Nobody  is coming to tell you to apply for   that job that you always dreamt about. No one's coming to write the business plan for  you. You got to parent yourself. You got to push yourself." - Mel Robins As I reflect on these words above from Mel Robins, I look back on my life and remember when I was  about to take my CSEC exams and I felt like giving up on the SBAs. I remember watching motivational  videos every night before I started working on them because it was the hardest time for me to focus, at  these crucial points in our lives things almost always get super difficult to keep under control nevertheless,  I pulled myself through despite I the personal challenges that I was facing I managed to overcome this  season by mot

Understanding Who You Are

by Jason Grant                                                                        A photo of me jumping with excitement. Photo by: Latty  Do you know who you are ?  Do you know what you're about?           Once upon a time I would take what others told me about myself as my reality, not fully  understanding myself for who I am. My likes, my interest, and my desires were all based on what others  told me about myself or what they would consider to be within the normative pattern of society for me to do.   It wasn't until much further on in my years of development (teenage years) exiting primary school to High  school is where it all began for me. I hope that you're not misinterpreting my story but that you are on par  with it. When I say it is "where it all began for me", I mean that I am now amongst peers from different  backgrounds and who have different experiences. Now being in a new school environment with a little  more freedom than primary days might hav

Kuttu Apparels  By Zasha-kae Dennis                                                                                  Founder of Kuttu Apparels.                                            Photo by- Zasha-kae Dennis  Kevaughn "Kuttu" Rodney is a young man with so many talents, it was a mystery which one he would pursue in life. As a diaspora Jamaican his zeal for climbing higher alongside his wisdom in art and wide skillset ensured that there was nothing out of reach for him. Bursting with the untapped potential he decided to plant the seed of his first business. A business he views as his firstborn child Kuttu Apparels, a compilation of his talents on display and available to the public.  Rodney has been a creative from a tender age his passion for art derived first from drawing and metastasized within him to even greater heights “I do not remember the age exactly but I remember finding one of my uncle's old sketchbooks and saw some portraits he did. I was fascinated by

University Student To Tour With International Artiste Koffee By: Zasha-Kae Dennis A portrait Photo of  Nastascia Bryan. Photo by: Zasha-Kae Dennis  Let us imagine for a moment that you are 8 years old. You follow your parents to church every Saturday to sing in the choir. You dance happily with friends at school on warm weekdays unaffected by the world’s challenges. You hear the melodies, you feel the beat reverberating through your body, and immediately there is a sense of belonging nesting in your heart. Knowing that somewhere in the universe an older, a more accomplished version of yourself remembers these moments as the turning point in your artistic journey.  Natascia “Natty B” Bryan knew then she was destined for greatness and is now set to tour with Grammy award-winning artist Koffee.  Nastascia Bryan on stage with crew and Reggae Artist Koffee. Creating The Best You

You are Creators  By Jason Grant The flowers of the garden are so graceful, they know their time and season.  A time to light up and blossom colorfully into a beautiful flower, emanating sweet fragrances, and then a season to whither with dried brown leaves and return to the earth. Some human beings are completely different from the flowers of the garden. We find it hard to transition into our next season especially if we're in a season of stagnation, prosperity may seem far fetched. This fear of transition is completely natural because you're leaving a place of familiarity to a new setting. It is said that our comfort zone might be hard to leave because of complacency. When you become complacent you are planted and you see growth or development as a hard task. On December 31, 2015, I decided that I wanted something different for 2016, I decided that who I was in that moment wasn't all that I could so I decided to start my journey to self-development in that year. How to Create a Vision Board for 2022

Image
Starting with  a Vision      All the rumors are true, if you fail to have a vision then you will live another year without  fulfilling  your goals. I have watched the years pass by with many individuals giving up on their journey early   into the start of the new year. Another year slides by and you are still not the person who you aspire to be or t hat you had set out to start working on at the begining of the new year. Well, that was me a few years  ago; falling back into bad eating habits, slacking off on schoolwork, eating junk food, and not holding  myself accountable. The truth of the matter is that old habits die hard. I can assure you that it requires  a  lot of  discipline to get on track and create your new reality .  A handcrafted pencil holder on my desk.                              If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. - Marcus Garvey  If you are like me who was once pondering and wondering what should I  have on my vision board
